Temecula, CA - In January, the
Oklahoma Police Communications Division moved the City’s
primary public safety answering point from a former bomb
shelter to an all new 25,000 square-foot emergency
communications center equipped with VESTA M-1 and MagIC
from PlantCML. The city has deployed a VESTA
M-1 solution for 9-1-1 since 1999.
The spacious new facility is a “smart” building and
designed to withstand category F-5 tornadoes as well as
straight wind gusts up to 250 mph. The center
consolidates police and fire dispatchers and serves as
the primary PSAP for a 625 square-mile area.

The new system, implemented by SBC, features 28
answering positions utilizing VESTA. The infrastructure
includes a new Meridian 1 PBX with Symposium Call Center
Server from Nortel. Call data and telecom data is
tracked with PlantCML’s MagIC. The new center cutover into
service on January 20, 2006.
